Alex is a Qualified Equine Behaviourist and Saddle Fitter working with South Coast Saddlery. Alex is fully Certified Horse Behaviour Consultant with the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants and is also a Registered Accredited Animal Behaviourist with the Animal Behaviour Training Council and an Approved Equine Professional with the PPGBI.
Mixing behaviour science and Saddlery, Alex is a Level 4 Advanced Saddle Fitter with the IASF and Saddle Fitting Consultant with South Coast Saddlery, currently completing his SMS QSF Pathway.
Alex’s approach to training and horsemanship in general is based on animal behaviour science. All his techniques are focused on the use of LIMA and the Humane Hierarchy. These frameworks provide a solid foundation and basis to work with a horse in the most ethical, positive way. Alex is ‘pro-choice’ and is more than happy to teach clients bitless and holds a stock of bridles to try and test out during sessions.
When not out consulting, Alex is a Director and Trustee of The Berkshire Animal Connection Centre, a sanctuary, education and interaction centre focused on providing long term sanctuary for animals in the Berkshire Countryside.
